Revenge (poem)

revenge

I’m up to the eleventh poem in the series now.

Here are the links (in order) if you need to catch up.

DESTINATION EARTH

WELCOME TO EARTH

HUNTED

ANIMALS

TAKEN FOR A RIDE

OVERKILL

BETRAYED

STARTING OVER

LIFE ON EARTH

MAKING IT WORK

Lila turned and ran

She bit her lip, to stop

Her eyes from leaking again

Knowing she would have to leave

The job she worked so hard at

And the home she put time and effort into

Anger began to replace the feelings

Of loss, devastation and fear

She told herself it was enough

She would make them feel loss

She would make them feel devastation

She would slowly kill them with fear

Lila had learnt about different species

In her cultural studies class

Humans were more susceptible

To her mind control

Prolonged control could kill them

Or make them kill themselves

She stopped running

Allowing them to catch her

Then when she was surrounded

Her power was unleashed

They all fell to their knees

While living waking nightmares

Lila continued to invade their minds

She had never pushed before

And the difference was obvious

As all their nightmares and fears

Played out in their heads

Eventually proving to be too much
