I’m up to the tenth in my series now.
See the links (in order) below to catch up on what you’ve missed.
She moved out of the room, into a flat
With it’s own kitchen and bathroom
Decorated again with more
Patterned paper and bright paints
She read somewhere, for a happy home
Bright colours are a must
The orange walls failed to help
Lila couldn’t find anything
In this world to smile about
Her eyes still leaked at night
Or whenever she thought
About Jay or her parents
Men spent longer in the garage
After noticing a female mechanic
Some found excuses to stay longer
Faking engine problems
Or in one desperate man’s case
Regularly damaging his own car
Lila was suspicious of men
But especially this one
Thinking he might have been sent
By the men in khaki uniforms
And she feigned illness
Returning home early
Men she didn’t know were on her doorstep
They weren’t wearing khaki uniforms
But their expressions suggested they should
Stern and determined, oddly proud
For someone whose job it was
To murder anyone who wasn’t like them
As an avid Whovian, watched the series since the start(53yrs), your series of poems has me transfixed, waiting for the next episode, I’m enjoying them, so very well done….
