Manchester Royal Infirmary closes A&E after suspected MERS cases

Manchester Royal Infirmary closed their A&E department earlier, while they carried out tests on two patients who they suspected may have Middle Eastern Respiratory Virus Syndrome (MERS). They have since reopened saying there is no risk to the public. One of the patients is now being monitored at North Manchester General. The test results are currently still pending.
