I personally feel that sentences for paedophiles are far too lenient. Speaking from knowledge of a particular case, the victims are still living with the effects of the abuse over 15yrs later. The abuser received a 3yr sentence despite the judge admitting that the 3 girls lives had quite likely been ruined. The abuser was actually released after only 18 months. Sadly, that kind of sentence seems to be the norm rather than an exception.
